A concept for the next generation of climate-positive public buildings in Uusimaa.
This vision illustrates how architecture can become an active part of the region's environmental strategy. Rather than simply reducing its impact, the building is designed to generate clean energy, enhance biodiversity, support sustainable mobility and create healthier public spaces for everyone.
Built with renewable materials such as mass timber (CLT), integrated solar energy systems and extensive green roofs, the concept demonstrates how future public infrastructure can operate in harmony with nature while remaining functional, accessible and resilient.
Surrounded by parks, cycling routes, electric public transport and community spaces, the building becomes more than a destination—it becomes a living ecosystem where innovation, wellbeing and environmental responsibility coexist.
By combining smart technologies, circular construction principles and people-centred design, this concept reflects the long-term vision of a carbon-neutral, climate-resilient and inclusive Uusimaa.
